Crunchy Buffalo Chickpeas

buffalo chickpeas1

This is the savory half of my Superbowl post. Baked chickpeas are a great, crunchy snack. Since they don’t really have much flavor, they can take on whatever flavors you add to them. These chickpeas are on the milder end of the hotness spectrum, so if you like more heat, increase the hot wing sauce by 1-2 tablespoons.

Ingredients

1 (15 oz.) can chickpeas, drained

2 T. Frank’s buffalo hot wing sauce

1 tsp. brown sugar

1/4 tsp. smoked paprika

1/4 tsp. garlic powder

1/2 tsp. kosher salt

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 F.
  2. Line a rimmed cookie sheet with foil or a silicone baking mat.
  3. In a large bowl, stir together chickpeas, wing sauce, brown sugar, paprika, and garlic powder.
  4. Pour chickpeas evenly into prepared pan.
  5. Sprinkle with salt.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes for crisp outsides and tender insides. If you want them really crispy cook an additional 5-10 minutes.
  7. Serve immediately.

When do you put the wing sauce on?

Whoops!! The wing sauce should be mixed in with all of the other ingredients. Thanks for catching that!

  2. I will have to try making these – what a great idea.
