Stir in garlic an cook for about 30 seconds, stirring the entire time.

Add ground turkey. Cook another 5 minutes, breaking apart the meat with a wooden spoon or rubber spatula.
1 pound lean ground turkey
Stir in rice, black beans, tomato sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Cook 3-5 more minutes, or until the rice starts to absorb the sauce. Remove from heat.

Scoop a heaping amount of the rice filling into each pepper.
Top the filling with some shredded cheese.

Pour 1 ½ cups of water around the peppers in the bottom of the baking dish.
Bake, uncovered, for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese melts and the peppers begin to soften.
Notes
Turkey: Ground beef or ground chicken could be used in place of the ground turkey.
Rice: Long-grain white rice or jasmine rice could be used in place of basmati rice.
Veggies: Feel free to add other vegetables, like sauteed mushrooms or zucchini, to the rice filling.
Beans: You can use another type of bean in place of the black beans.
Seasoning: Italian seasoning could be substituted for the oregano and basil.
Cheese: Or use another type of shredded cheese, like pepper Jack.
