butter
at cool room temperature
1/2
cup
creamy or crunchy peanut butter
at room temperature
2 ½

sifted powdered sugar

milk or heavy whipping cream

vanilla extract

Instructions
In a large bowl, add butter and beat until creamy.
Add in peanut butter, and beat on medium until well-combined, scraping the sides of the bowl as needed.
Add powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons milk, and vanilla.
Beat on low for 30 seconds, or until powdered sugar is just combined.
Increase speed to medium, and continue beating until frosting is well-combined.
Add additional milk as necessary to get the desired consistency.
Notes
Butter:
I use salted butter. If using unsalted butter, add 1/4 teaspoon salt to the frosting.
Peanut butter:
Use a regular peanut butter, like Skippy or Jif.
Powdered sugar:
Powdered sugar is also known as confectioner's sugar. If your powdered sugar is lumpy, sift it before using.
Milk or cream:
Using heavy cream will give you lighter, fluffier frosting.
