This easy eggnog French toast recipe makes a fast, festive French toast with eggnog and a handful of ingredients. It's ready in minutes and is perfect for the holiday season
In a large mixing bowl whisk together the eggnog, eggs, vanilla extract, rum extract, if using, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well-combined.
1 ½ cups eggnog, 6 large eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, ½ teaspoon rum extract, ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon nutmeg, ⅛ teaspoon salt
Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
Once it’s heated, dip a piece of bread in the egg mixture so both sides are coated. Let it drip off.
10-12 slices Texas Toast
Grease the skillet with cooking spray or butter and cook for about 1-2 minutes per side or until golden brown.
Flip and continue cooking until golden brown on both sides.
Repeat with remaining egg mixture and bread.
Serve warm with your favorite toppings like butter and maple syrup.
Notes
Eggnog: Feel free to use your favorite brand of eggnog.
Rum extract: You can omit the extract if you prefer or use brand extract in place of the rum.
Bread: Any thick-sliced bread will work. Thick sandwich loaves, like Sara Lee Artesano, brioche bread, or even cinnamon bread work well in this recipe.
