Slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise. Set aside.
16 ounce loaf Italian bread or French bread
In a medium bowl, add the butter and stir the butter to soften and mix it.
½ cup salted butter
Add the butter, garlic, garlic powder, and garlic salt. Stir together until well-combined.
4 cloves garlic, ½ teaspoon garlic powder, ¼ teaspoon garlic salt
Spread half of the garlic butter mixture on one half of the bread.
Spread the remaining half of the garlic bread on the remaining half of the bread.
Place the buttered bread on a large rimmed baking sheet.
Bake for about 10-15 minutes or until light golden brown.
Slice into pieces and serve.
Notes
Butter: You can absolutely use unsalted butter in this recipe. If using unsalted butter, you may find that you need to add a pinch or two of salt.
Garlic: Feel free to use more or less garlic to suit your tastes.
Garlic powder: The garlic powder helps to add more garlic flavor.
Garlic salt: The garlic salt also helps to add more garlic flavor. If you are concerned about sodium, you can use additional garlic powder in place of the garlic salt.
