Add milk, cream, egg yolks, sugar, vanilla extract, salt, and ground cinnamon to a large, shallow dish.
2 ½ cups whole milk, ½ cup heavy cream, 5 large egg yolks, ¼ cup granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon salt
Whisk together until well-combined.
Place a couple slices of bread in the egg mixture, gently pressing it into the egg mixture.

Flip the bread and gently press the other side into the egg mixture.
Grease the skillet with butter.
Add the soaked pieces of brioche to the skillet.
Cook for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.
Flip the pieces and continue cooking for about 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown.
Repeat the process with the remaining brioche.
Serve warm.
Notes
Whole milk - Whole milk helps to give you rich, creamy French toast.
Heavy cream - You can use additional whole milk or half-and-half in place of the cream.
Large egg yolks - The egg yolks help to make the French toast rich.
Granulated sugar - A little bit of sugar helps the French toast flavor and helps it to caramelize.
Ground cinnamon - Feel free to adjust the amount to taste.
Salt - A couple of pinches of salt help to balance out the flavor in the egg mixture.
