Adjust the oven rack to the middle position, and preheat the oven to 500F.
Grease a 12-inch cast iron skillet with the olive oil.

Roll out the dough into a 12-inch circle on a lightly floured surface.

Transfer the dough to the prepared skillet and press into the bottom and up the sides of the skillet.
Spread the sauce onto the bottom of the dough leaving an inch border without sauce.

Sprinkle most of the mozzarella cheese over the sauce.

Arrange the pepperoni slices over the cheese, and sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top.

For crispier crust, place the skillet on the stove, and cook over medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
Transfer the skillet to the oven, and bake for about 6-10 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the crust has turned golden brown.
For softer crust, bake for about 6-10 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the crust has turned golden brown.
Carefully remove the skillet from the oven, and let the pizza cool for 5-10 minutes.
Remove to a cutting board, and slice to serve.
Notes
Pizza dough: If you'd like to use homemade pizza dough, you can make homemade pizza dough in about 20 minutes with this recipe. If you'd like thin crust pizza, use less pizza dough for the pizza and stretch the dough thinner in the pan.
Pizza sauce: You can use any type of pizza sauce that you prefer, or you can make homemade pizza sauce in about 20 minutes.
Cheese: Feel free to vary the type of cheese according to the toppings you like.
