I don’t use a microwave oven
How can I adapt this? Also, can I substitute anything else for the chow mein noodles?

Hi – You could try using a double boiler instead. Something neutral and crunchy, like broken stick pretzels, might work. If you use pretzels, you may want to use unsalted nuts. Hope that helps!
