    Black Bottom Pecan Praline BarsThis time of year, it's nice to have an easy dessert recipe that can feed a crowd.

    Ingredients

    Brownie Layer

    • ½ cup butter
    • 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate , chopped
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
    • ¼ teaspoon salt
    • 2 large eggs
    • ½ cup all-purpose flour

    Pecan Praline Layer

    • ½ cup butter
    • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
    • 2 egg yolks
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • ½ cup all-purpose flour
    • ½ teaspoon baking soda
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • 2 ½ cups coarsely chopped pecans

    Instructions

    • Preheat oven to 350F. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Sit aside.

    Brownie Layer

    • In a large, microwave-safe bowl, heat the butter and chocolate together in the microwave for 30 seconds. 
    • Stir, and continue heating and stirring in 15 second intervals until chocolate has melted.
    • Add brown sugar, vanilla, and salt. Stir to combine.
    • Stir in eggs until combined.
    • Mix in the flour until batter is smooth and glossy. 
    • Pour batter into prepared pan. Set aside.

    Pecan Praline Layer

    • In a large saucepan, melt butter.
    • Remove from heat, and stir in brown sugar until combined.
    • Stir in egg yolks and vanilla until combined.
    • Add flour and baking soda. Stir until just combined.
    • Stir in chopped pecans. 
    • Drop spoonfuls of the pecan praline layer over the brownie layer. The pecan praline layer will spread during baking to cover brownie layer.
    • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until edges are browned.
    • Let cool completely before cutting.
