Sheet pan nachos are a great way to make nachos for a crowd! This easy recipe lets you make a tray of tasty nachos in less than 30 minutes.
The best part about making sheet pan nachos is that you get a great topping to chip ratio with plenty of tasty toppings on all of the chips. You can easily customize this recipe to your tastes, and I’ve included notes in the post below with suggestions for doing so.
Ingredient notes and substitutions
- Ground beef: I use either 88% or 90% lean ground beef. You could use ground turkey or ground chicken. If you use ground chicken or ground turkey, you may want to add additional seasoning.
- Taco seasoning: You can use packaged taco seasoning or make your own taco seasoning. For lower sodium, use a reduced sodium taco seasoning.
- Black beans: Another type of bean, like pinto beans, can be used.
- Salsa: Pick a chunky tomato salsa that you like the flavor of.
- Shredded cheese: Or substitute your favorite type of shredded cheese.

Recipe Tips!
- Vegetarian: You can use meatless crumbles in place of the ground beef. Just add a bit of oil to your pan. You could also use two cans of beans to bulk up the mixture.
- Crispy nachos: For crispy nachos, you want moist ground beef mixture, but it shouldn’t be wet. For crispier nachos, you can also crisp up the chips in the oven for 2-3 minutes before adding the toppings.
Serving suggestions
You can serve the nachos topped with your favorite toppings. Some ideas are salsa, guacamole, sour cream, fresh cilantro, and fresh sliced or pickled jalapeno.

Storage
The nachos are best eaten when freshly made. Store any leftover nachos in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They will keep for 2-3 days when properly stored in the fridge.
