Creamy strawberry cream cheese frosting makes an easy icing for cakes and cupcakes or a simple filling for cookies. This easy 5-ingredient frosting takes just minutes to whip up!
I’ve been trying to find ways to incorporate more fruits and veggies into our diet. To that end, I’ve been talking to my kids about seasonal produce when we go to the store.
My hope was that if they got to help pick the fruits and veggies out, that they would be more likely to eat them.
So far, it’s working out pretty well. My kids have actually been getting excited about fruit (veggies are still harder sell with them, though). The kids have been especially excited about strawberries.
So, I picked up a tub of strawberry cream cheese and decided to make an easy dessert that incorporated some of those fresh strawberries.
I made this sweet and tangy Strawberry Philadelphia Cream Cheese Icing and spread it on top of some vanilla bean cupcakes.
Then, I topped the cupcakes and icing with some fresh strawberry slices. Now, this icing is softer than a normal frosting, so it’s perfect for spreading on cakes or cupcakes, but it would also make a delicious filling for cookies.

Would this frosting be good on sugar cookies? I have several cookie mixes and tubs of strawberry cream cheese I need to use up soon.
Kate says
Yes, I think it would be good on sugar cookies. The frosting is soft and spreadable, so it should be easy to put frost sugar cookies with.
