Cheeseburgers are popular for a reason! My family loves cheeseburger everything - cheeseburger chili, cheeseburger braid, and cheeseburger sliders!

Cheeseburger sliders make a simple weeknight meal that's sure to please. This yummy baked sandwich recipe is a great way to make cheeseburgers for a crowd.

The sliders have all the flavor of a cheeseburger and are topped with a sweet and tangy glaze, and they make a tasty lunch or dinner.

    How to make cheeseburger sliders

silver skillet with browned ground beefCut the rolls in half horizontally. Do not separate individual rolls.

Place the bottom half of 12 of the rolls in one baking dish and the bottom half of the other 12 rolls in the second baking pan. Sprinkle 1 cup of cheese over bottom half of rolls in one pan. Repeat with 1 cup of cheese in the second pan.

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef until no longer pink. Drain and return to pan.

Browned ground beef with onion in a silver skilletAdd onion, and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until onion has softened. Stir in tomatoes, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.

Cook, stirring regularly, for 1 minute. Remove from heat.

Ground beef mixture and cheese on dinner rollsDivide the beef mixture between the rolls in the two pans. Sprinkle ¾ cup cheese over rolls in the first pan.

Repeat with remaining ¾ cup cheese in the second pan.

    • Dinner rolls: You can use Hawaiian rolls for a sweeter slider.
    • Cheese: Feel free to use more or less cheese to taste. Also, you can use any variety of shredded cheese you like.
    • Ground beef: Ground turkey also works well in this recipe.
    • You may be tempted to skip the glaze. It adds a delicious sweet and tangy flavor. It also helps to give the sandwiches a nice crust as they bake.

    Storage

I store the sandwiches, covered, in a resealable container in the fridge. They sandwiches are best eaten in the 2-3 days after they're made.
