Pepperoni bread is a quick pepperoni cheese bread that’s brushed with garlic butter after baking. It makes an easy lunch or dinner.

Pepperoni is made with layers of pepperoni and cheese rolled up in pizza dough. The bread is brushed with homemade garlic butter after baking for even more flavor.
It makes a delicious lunch or dinner, and it can be ready in about 40 minutes!
What is pepperoni bread?
Pepperoni bread is a similar to a stromboli. The dough is rolled out, layered with pepperoni and cheese, and rolled up before baking.
Pepperoni bread are also known as pepperoni rolls. It is thought to have originated as a lunch for coal miners in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
How to make pepperoni bread
Step 1: If the pizza dough is refrigerated, let it come to room temperature, about 1 ½-2 hours.
Step 2: Once the pizza dough is at room temperature, preheat the oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat or spray with nonstick cooking spray.
Step 3: Place the pizza dough on a silicone baking mat or sheet of parchment paper or on a lightly floured surface.

Step 4: Roll the pizza dough into a 15×10-inch rectangle.

Step 5: Place the pepperonis on the pizza dough in a single layer.

Step 6: Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the pepperonis.

Step 7: Roll the dough up from the long side.

Step 8: Pinch the seam and place seam-side down diagonally on prepared baking sheet.
Step 9: Bake until golden brown and baked through, about 25-30 minutes.
Step 10: Add the melted butter, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and garlic salt to a small bowl. Stir until combined.

Step 11: Brush the garlic butter onto the baked pizza bread, and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
Step 12: Let the bread cool for about 5 minutes.
Step 13: Slice into 2-inch pieces and serve with pizza sauce for dipping.
Recipe Tips!

- I like to use a small hand-held rolling pin to roll pizza and bread dough because the smaller size makes it easier to use.
- If you’d like to use sesame seeds or something similar on the outside of the dough, make a simple egg wash with 1 egg and 1 tablespoon of water. This will help the seeds to stick.

Variations
- Pizza dough: You can use either homemade pizza dough or store bought pizza dough. Whole wheat pizza dough will also work in this recipe.
- Vegetarian: You can use veggie pepperoni slices instead of pepperoni slices.
- Lighter: I like to use whole milk mozzarella because it melts so well, but part-skim mozzarella and turkey pepperoni will give you lighter pepperoni bread.
- Sauce: Pepperoni bread goes well with a number of sauces. I like to serve it with homemade pizza sauce for dipping, but your favorite breadstick dipping sauces, like ranch dressing, alfredo sauce, or garlic butter, will also work well.

Storage
Store any leftover pepperoni bread in an airtight container in the refrigerator. The bread will keep for 2-3 days when properly stored in the fridge.

OMG so good and so easy! Used her homemade pizza dough with rapid rise yeast and stuck it in oven to proof while prepped the roll ingredients. Forgot the salt and it was still amazing since pepperoni is salty. Saved my NYE meal plans since I ran out of time to make my usual 3 hour dough! Only change is I added twice the cheese and brushed with egg white prior to baking, so it was a beautiful golden brown. Then added butter after baking per instructions. Can’t wait to make it again!
