Blended baked oats are an easy baked oatmeal made with simple ingredients. The baked oats make a dense, moist, muffin-like breakfast.
Blended baked oats are a viral internet sensation! These oats, though, are different than traditional baked oatmeal.
This recipe makes oats that are similar to blender muffins. The oats are moist, a bit dense, and they are muffin-like.
The baked oats are made with simple ingredients, and they make a great breakfast meal-prep recipe.
Ingredient tips and substitutions
- Milk: Any type of milk, from skim milk to whole milk, will work. Plant-based milks, like almond milk, can also be used.
- Brown sugar: I use light brown sugar. Feel free to use more or less depending on how sweet you’d like the oats to be.
- Bananas: Blended baked oats are a great alternative to banana bread for using up ripe bananas. It’s important to use ripe or overripe bananas because they give the oats more flavor and sweetness.
- Vanilla extract: You can use less if you prefer.
- Chocolate chips: I like to use mini chocolate chips because they give little bites of chocolate throughout the oats. Regular chocolate chips will also work.

Do you have to use bananas? Can this be made without one?
Kate says
Hi! I haven’t tried making the oats without the banana. However, I’ve used applesauce or pumpkin as a substitute for banana in other recipes, so maybe that would work?
