This easy eggnog French toast recipe makes a fun, festive breakfast in less than 10 minutes with just a few simple ingredients. It’s the perfect way to use up leftover holiday eggnog and makes any winter morning feel special.

Eggnog French Toast is one of the quickest holiday breakfasts you can make, and it’s also a great way to put leftover eggnog to good use. The eggnog adds rich flavor on its own, so you only need a few additional ingredients, and you’re ready to cook.
It takes just minutes to prep and cook, making it ideal for busy winter mornings, quick holiday breakfasts, or for busy holiday brunches. Serve it warm with maple syrup, powdered sugar, or a sprinkle of cinnamon for a simple breakfast that still feels festive.

Ingredient notes and substitutions
- Eggnog: Feel free to use your favorite brand of eggnog.
- Rum extract: You can omit the extract if you prefer or use brand extract in place of the rum.
- Bread: Any thick-sliced bread will work. Thick sandwich loaves, like Sara Lee Artesano, brioche bread, or even cinnamon bread work well in this recipe.

Recipe Tips!
- Serving suggestions: Since the French toast is already sweet, you can serve it with powdered sugar and berries, whipped cream, butter and maple syrup (or a flavored syrup like buttermilk syrup).
- Freezing: To freeze the leftover French toast, let it cool to room temperature on a wire cooling rack. Lay the pieces in a sheet pan in a single layer and flash freeze until frozen through. Place the frozen French toast in a single layer in a freezer-safe container (or separate layers with parchment or wax paper). Freeze for up to 1 month. Freeze completely cooled leftovers in a freezer safe bag or container in the freezer for up to 3 months. To rewarm, microwave for about 15-30 seconds to thaw. They place in a toaster to rewarm.

Storage
Store any leftover French toast in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It will keep for 3-4 days when properly stored in the fridge.
