3 ingredient bagels are easy, homemade bagels that are made with just three, simple ingredients. These tasty bagels can be made from scratch in about 30 minutes!

There’s nothing like fresh, homemade baked goods! However, most people don’t have time to bake in the mornings. These easy, 3-ingredient bagels may just change that.
They’re made with 3 ingredients that you probably already have on hand, and they’re so simple to make! There’s no working with yeast or waiting for dough to rise.
Just mix them up and bake them! And in about 30 minutes, you’ll be eating tasty homemade bagels.

Ingredient notes and substitutions
- Self-rising flour: It’s crucial to use self-rising flour. Self-rising flour is flour that has had baking powder and salt added to it.
- If you don’t have self-rising flour, you can make your own homemade self-rising flour substitute.
- Greek yogurt: Plain, non-fat Greek yogurt works well. Feel free to use 2% or whole milk Greek yogurt. I don’t recommend using yogurt as it is too thin and makes the dough too sticky.
How to make 3 ingredient bagels
Here you’ll find step-by-step photos showing how to make this recipe. The full recipe, including instructions, is given below.
Step 1: Preheat oven to 375° F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Step 2: In a large bowl, mix together the flour, Greek yogurt, and eggs with a spatula, making sure all the flour is absorbed. You will be left with a sticky dough.

Step 3: Turn the dough onto a heavily floured surface (you can use all-purpose for this). The dough will be very sticky, so also coat your hands in flour and knead the dough until you are left with a smooth ball.

Step 4: Separate the ball of dough in half then each half into quarters.
Step 5: Roll each piece of dough in your palm until a smooth ball forms.

Step 6: Poke your thumb into the centers to hollow it out.
Step 7: Place each shaped bagel on the prepared baking sheet then either lightly coat with oil or an egg wash (recipe in notes below).

Step 8: Top with your favorite bagel toppings or leave plain. It’s up to you!
Step 9: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until bagels are golden brown.

Step 10: Let bagels cool, and then enjoy toasted or just as-is!

Recipe Tips!
- Mixing: After mixing, this dough will be very sticky. You can try to mix everything in a stand mixer with a dough hook attachment, but I find it easier to knead it by hand and add in flour as I go to keep the stickiness at bay and create that smooth ball of dough.
- Serving suggestions: The bagels can be eaten on their own, topped with toppings like cinnamon honey butter or cream cheese, or used as the base for yummy bagel sandwiches.

Topping ideas
Here are some ideas to top your bagels:
- Seeds: Seeds like poppy seeds or sesame seeds
- Everything bagel seasoning
- Cheese: Shredded cheese like Asiago cheese or cheddar cheese

Storage
These bagels should be stored in an airtight container at room temperature. The bagels will keep for up to 3 days when properly stored.
However, you I recommend toasting them after a day or so to help make them last longer.

Donna Schatz says
Can sour cream be used to make the 3 ingredient bagels instead of Greek yogurt?
Kate says
I haven’t tried using sour cream in this recipe because I use Greek yogurt for extra protein. However, I’ve used sour cream and plain Greek yogurt interchangeably in cake and muffin recipes for years, and I’ve never had an issue.
