Hot Chocolate Tiramisu is a delicious, no-bake dessert that’s made without coffee. Hot chocolate tiramisu is an easy recipe that makes a great holiday dessert.Â
Let me get something out of the way up front: this is not, in any way, meant to be authentic. This hot chocolate tiramisu doesn’t have traditional elements like coffee or egg yolks or mascarpone cheese in it.
Instead, this Hot Chocolate Tiramisu is a faster and easier take on the classic dessert. It is delicious and chocolaty and creamy and just plain good!
Ingredients and tips
- Heavy whipping cream: The cream will whip up better if it’s cold. If you’d like tips on making whipped cream, you can check out this post.
- Cream cheese: You can use reduced-fat, Greek yogurt, or full-fat. I don’t recommend using fat-free cream cheese.
- Hot chocolate mix: You can make your own easy hot chocolate mix with this simple recipe.
- Ladyfingers: I use dried ladyfingers in this recipe.
- The servings are pretty generous. Feel free to halve the servings so that you can get four servings out of the recipe.
How to make hot chocolate tiramisu
With an electric mixer, beat whipping cream on medium speed until you can see the tracks in the whipping cream, about 3 minutes. Add sugar, and beat until stiff peaks form.
Mix in cream cheese until combined.
In a separate small dish, stir together hot water and hot chocolate mix. Place a small amount (about 1/4 cup) of the cream mixture in a trifle dish. Dip ladyfingers in hot chocolate, and place in a single layer in dish.
Repeat layers, ending with cream layer. Top with a dusting of unsweetened cocoa powder or grated chocolate.
How to store
Leftovers can be stored, covered, in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Would this recipe fill a regular size trifle dish? It looks really good and I’m thinking it would be perfect to make and take to a NYE party :)

I haven’t tried it in a regular sized trifle dish, but I don’t think that it would. I *think* you might need to double it get enough. I’m sorry that I’m not sure on that, but that would be my guess. If you have any other questions, please let me know, and good luck! =)

I looove using hot cocoa mix in desserts! I always have these cocoa cravings once the weather cools down then I’m stuck with more cocoa mix than I really wanted. Every year I find something new to make with my leftovers (this year was pancakes!). Thanks for the new idea!

Me too!! I can’t pass hot chocolate mixes without wanting to buy every flavor, and we always end up with some leftover! Oh, I have a Hot Chocolate Cake for you, too, if you’re looking for more ideas. =)
